Even though I’m still hater of Twitter my friend and business partner has convinced me to try it for a month before I make my final judgement on the super hot and awesome-platform-that-will-save-mankind.
I’ve had a Twitter account since 2008, but haven’t really used it. I didn’t really hate Twitter back then. I actually thought it was cool how you could text to tweet. It was fun to see the something done in the real world sending a text message could show up in the virtual world. However, it was more a cool feature than something I found any value in. The hate started sinking when I just started hearing Twitter everywhere I went. People talked it up like it was the best thing ever. I just didn’t and still don’t fully understand.
What better way to understand than to join the bandwagon? Or better yet be your own bandwagon! As I conquered the 1 Year Sober Challenge I will now conquer the 30 Day Twitter Challenge.
30 Day Twitter Challenge…For People Who Hate and Don’t Get Twitter
Goal
Evaluate the usefulness of Twitter
Why
Build more and stronger relationships. My partner is convinced that reaching out to different people through Twitter can help foster better relationships which can help open doors or opportunities for me and my ventures.
What I think will happen
It will be like me talking to a wall. No one will listen or care.
Method
Each day do the following for 30 days:
- Login to Twitter or some kind of Twitter client
- Respond to all direct messages regardless of person
- Find 5 new people to message
- Share 1 super awesome insight or lesson learned
That’s it in a nutshell. I’ll report back the results after 30 days. By then I hope to have 1000 friends, followers, and minions and people inviting me to call the sexy underground parties. I expect no less.
Tweet Me
Since I am now an active Twitter user feel free to tweet me at http://twitter.com/bentao or should i write @bentao? I have no clue.
