I never had a Facebook because the thought makes me sick. I never wanted to be on Twitter, but I was sucked in this year. I follow some of my favorite radio shows and musicians. Some of them have corresponded with me, favorited or retweeted me. I realize it is completely nerdy and pathetic to feel good about that and all it does is exacerbate my mental illness! It gives you a false sense of self worth, it inflates your ego to a certain degree, it definitely puts you in a position to be in a popularity contest and I DESPISE it! I read these comments as inspiration for me to delete my account. In the end, none of it fucking matters and I probably end up making an ass of myself to try to appear witty or interesting. Who cares? And if you don't have an active social life, it's really addictive as it gives you the false sense of actually connecting with people. I will delete my account and try to forget it existed. The only thing keeping keeping there is my ego, but at least I admit it. Thankyou for this. I hate Twitter as well. What I find sad is how the viewing public when she came on stage assumed that she wouldn't be talented...and then were "blown away" that she could actually sing.
